  • spats - short gaiters for the ankles
  • slops - trousers; legs of trousers
  • gamashes - leggings
  • strop - a leather waist belt
  • kîtel - a jerkin; short linen jacket with waist belt; a blouse
  • slop - a loose linen jacket with waist belt
  • cooat - coat   "top cooat" &c
  • flannin - flannel
  • brat - pinafore, apron
  • muffaties - woollen cuffs for the wrists
  • skoggars or scoggers - outer sleeves to protect the arms from grease and dirt; (often old woollen stockings with the feet cut off) usually worn when salving sheep
  • pockert - pocket
  • scoprel - a circular disc of bone or wood which when covered with cloth formed a button
  • mittens - hedging gloves of strong leather
