Recent Dinners
2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 2001 2000 Formal dinners for the members and their guests have been held throughout the recorded history of Dudley Book Society. Today the Society meets just once a year, for its Annual Dinner and Auction of Books. If members do not attend they are fined, and if they do not buy a book they are fined again ! ... but there are never enough books for everyone so the auction can be a lively affair !
The Annual Dinner is usually held in November, at a restaurant in or close to the Borough of Dudley, and follows the traditional format. The principal speaker proposes the time-honoured toast to 'Civil and Religious Liberty all the World Over'.
For details of the most recent and some previous dinners, and the books that were auctioned, follow the links above.
